People will be able to pull on their golf clothing whatever the weather once new golf domes open in Hartlepool.
The £7 million Sports Domes development will feature an indoor driving range, a chipping green, a putting course, golf simulators, a sand bank and leisure facilities which will be accessible to members for £100 a year.
It is aimed at people who find traditional golf club membership too expensive or those who want to play throughout the winter.
Sports Domes owner Brian Morton told Golf Club Management: "The golf dome has been created to provide challenges and entertainment for golfers at the highest level and we also expect it to appeal to companies looking for an alternative venue for corporate meetings and events.
"Golfers will also find its 24 degrees Celsius temperature to be a vast improvement on the harsh winds and driving rain associated with the north east coast."
The domes are the first of the kind in the UK and will be open early next year.
