The 21-year-old boy band member played golf at the course when he was a child and enjoyed a round there just before Christmas, no doubt sporting some trademark fashionable golf clothing .
Like his band mates Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, Niall is a heartthrob known around the world. The five-piece have had various hits, including What Makes You Beautiful and Live While We're Young.
It all started on The X Factor four years ago and One Direction have gone from strength-to-strength ever since.
But despite their worldwide popularity it seems Niall was not expecting this particular honour.
He thanked the people at the club for thinking of him, and said it means all the more to him as he has had a membership at the 72-par parkland course since he was 12 or 13.
