Oosthuizen modelled a blond curly wig, with his white golf hat sat on top of the bouffant do, while Schwartzel wore a black wig.

They took the wigs off when play commenced; but they still got off to a hairy start, losing the first hole they played against opponents Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley. However, they rallied to claim victory.

The wigs were worn as a joke after both players received bad haircuts earlier this week, with the team barber cutting both of their locks too short.

"My wife phoned me before the match this morning and said she was at a shop and there were two wigs there," Oosthuizen told reporters.

"She wanted to know if we wanted to have a go with them. I said, `Yeah, bring them.'"
