The 2003 and 2004 winner, from Ormskirk, secured her spot at next month's final at Royal Porthcawl with a one-under-par 70 at the Surrey course - boosted by an eagle three at the ninth.

Gray, 34, finished a stroke ahead of North Yorkshire's Lysa Jones, who won the event in 2005.

Seven qualifiers in total will join the current champion, Mette Hageman from the Netherlands, in the 36-hole final at Royal Porthcawl, which carries a prize of £1,000 to the winner.
