The Frenchman, who won his first European Tour title of the season at the Volvo China Open in April and his second at the Portugal Masters three weeks ago, made a good start in his bid for a third success on Thursday.

The 24-year-old carded a flawless 65 at Lake Malaren in damp conditions, eventually finishing one shot ahead of fellow Frenchman Romain Wattel, Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts and Argentine Emiliano Grillo at seven under par.

Levy, seen here in a top performance golf shirt , birdied his first four holes and the par-three 17th also brought him another shot. There were further birdies at the second and ninth.

He said he was enjoying the course and would strive to repeat the success he had had in April in China.

His close friend and compatriot Wattel achieved a flawless 66 despite cracking the face of his driver during the round. Meanwhile Ryder Cup star Victor Dubuisson returned a two-under-par 70.
