The inaugural International Crown tournament will take place at the Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland, in July next year.
Competitors from eight nations will pull on their golf clothing and battle it out in a series of matches to earn the title of world champion.
The competition will take place over four days, with three days of fourball matches, followed by a day of singles. Teams will earn two points for a victory and one point for a half, with the top five point-scoring teams after the first three days progressing to the final day singles, where the overall points scorers will be crowned champions.
"We celebrate great players from all over the world on a weekly basis, but this is the first time we'll pit country versus country for global bragging rights," Ladies Professional Golf Association Commissioner Michael Whan said.
Teams will be determined through the Rolex world ranking system. The eight nations with the best combined world rankings for their highest four ranked golfers will be the ones that compete near Baltimore next year.
The top four golfers for each nation will earn the right automatically to pull on the golf clothing of their home country, with the honour bestowing the fifth ranked player if one of the top for is unable to play.
Based on the current world rankings, Taiwan, South Korea, US, Japan, Sweden, Australia, Taiwan, Spain and England would qualify for the opening event.
The event looks to be a replacement for the Women's World Cup of Golf, which ran between 2005 and 2008.
