Scott is favourite to land a third consecutive victory in the event at the Metropolitan Golf Club in Melbourne, but Geoff Ogilvy says many of the local stars could deny the world No 2.
Ogilvy, pictured here sporting a dark coloured golf shirt , ended a four-year PGA Tour title drought with victory at the Barracuda Championship in August - and he says local knowledge could play a vital part in the outcome.
He said he felt as though he stood a good chance of winning, adding the fact he would be on home turf could also help him.
But Ogilvy admitted the field was still open and the title could go to anyone if they played well enough.
Marcus Fraser, Steven Bowditch and 2010 champion Stuart Appleby are among the other local players getting ready for Thursday, while charismatic American Boo Weekley adds an international element to the field.
