Paul Lawrie wins Johnnie Walker Championship

Glenmuir sponsored tour player, Paul Lawrie, has won the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles.

The Aberdonian's victory came just weeks before the Ryder Cup for which he is set to be a part of for the second time in his career.

Lawrie's first appearance with Team Europe came back in 1999 following his victory at The Open Championship.

He enjoyed a lead throughout the final round of the Johnnie Walker Championship, finishing on a score of -16, four shots ahead of Brett Rumford in second place.

Lawrie has been on great form throughout the whole of 2012 and brings his season to a close with a second European Tour victory - having won the Qatar Masters back in February - and a coveted spot in José María Olazábal's European Ryder Cup team.
