Glenmuir Supports Seve Day

Glenmuir, one of Europe's leading golf apparel brands, has become the official clothing partner for Seve Day - the huge charity golf event taking place throughout July to support brain cancer research.

Set up in partnership with the Seve Ballesteros Foundation and Cancer Research UK, Seve Day hopes to attract thousands of participants and raise thousands of pounds. 

Celebrating the month when Ballesteros won his first Major title, at The Open in 1979, competitors can play a round of golf anywhere in Europe and register their scores on the www.seveday.com website.

A star-studded grand final will then be held at Celtic Manor’s championship Twenty-Ten Course in October 2012, shortly after this year’s Ryder Cup at Medinah, where the top 72 Stableford score entrants will play for big prizes and the Seve Day 2012 trophy.

Glenmuir and Sunderland are supplying shirts and jackets for all the finalists.

Said Glenmuir & Sunderland marketing director, Brian Mair: "We are proud to support this fantastic fundraising initiative, which celebrates the incredible legacy left by Seve Ballesteros.

"As suppliers of teamwear for both the European and GB&I teams in the Seve Trophy, this is a continuation of our long-standing association with Seve - which stretches back through several Ryder Cups and to the days when he was a proud wearer of Sunderland waterproofs."

In return for a £25/€30 entry fee, which goes directly to the Seve Ballesteros Foundation, participants in Seve Day also receive £250 worth of benefits including free golf lessons, five complimentary rounds of golf, plus the chance to win a trip to the US Masters if they scoop the grand final.
