The former Manchester United manager helped Paul McGinley, pictured here in a stylish wool slipover , take the players to victory by giving pep talks before and during their Gleneagles win.
The ex Premiership boss, famous for humility as well as for being calm under pressure, was asked to instruct the golfers in dealing with expectation and in being a successful favourite.
