Wearing a pink golf shirt the 28-year-old finished the tournament at Napa in California on 15 under par, two shots ahead of Steven Bowditch after being put under some late pressure by the Australian.

Bae had gone into the final round of the PGA Tour opener with a four-shot lead and, after sinking two early birdies, reached the turn in 35.

But his bid for glory was then put under pressure as he hit three bogeys in the space of just four holes.

And while Bae, who played in the 2012 Open, was faltering, a charge from Bowditch saw him hit three birdies and an eagle on the final seven holes to finish with a final round of 67.

But this late flourish from Bowditch was not quite enough to catch Bae, whose first PGA Tour victory was at the HP Byron Nelson Championship in May 2013.
