Four-time champion Tiger Woods will swap his golf clothing for a hospital gown this month as he prepares for microdiscectomy surgery for his "immediate and long-term health".
The world number one recently pulled out of the Honda Classic on the final round after being plagued by back injuries.
While spectators and competitors alike will miss Woods on the course, one thing that will be missed considerably less is the Eisenhower Tree.
The tree became infamous for getting in the way of the course and affecting play, so when it was damaged in a storm and removed earlier this year, it came at the delight of many.
Arnold Palmer recently said: "It was a problem to everybody. I played a lot of golf at Augusta with Ike (Dwight Eisenhower) and of course he hated that tree. A couple of times he told me. He said 'Arnie, if I could hit that tree enough to bring it down I'd do it'."
The 2014 tournament will take place from April 7 until April 13.
