The former world number one has missed two major championships already this year after having corrective surgery following a continuous back injury.
Earlier this week Woods' agent Mark Steinberg revealed on the PGA Tour's website that Woods has been making further progress and is able to do more training - and feels better for it.
The news adds speculation as to whether he will be fit enough to enter the upcoming Open Championship which takes place between 17 - 20 July.
However, the question of whether he will actually compete still hangs in the balance as he is yet to make a formal comment on when he will return.
