Trump to unveil second course plans

The 66-year-old businessman will unveil designs for the Mary MacLeod course, named after his Scottish mother.

The unabashed America has already dubbed his estate's championship course as "the world's greatest golf course".

"Once again, Martin Hawtree's design is genius - we have the greatest piece of links land in the world and the unprecedented demand to play our championship course has accelerated our plans to build the second course," Trump said in February.

Hawtree, the golf architect behind the redevelopment of Open Championship courses such as Royal Birkdale and Muirfield, has been assigned the task of designing his second course at Trump International Scotland.

"The special and subtle challenge for me is to ensure that it sits comfortably beside its neighbour, neither outshone by the existing course nor making any attempt to mimic or rival those leviathan qualities," Hawtree said.
