Kevin Streelman (-7) and Matt Kuchar (-3) moved three clear of Denmark at a combined 10-under-par for the tournament.

Hosts Australia, along with Japan, will pull on their golf clothing a further four shots behind Denmark.

Streelman followed up his opening 66, with a two-under-par round of 69 on day two to finish a shot behind individual leader Thomas Bjorn of Denmark.

Jason Day, who opted to play in the tournament despite losing eight relatives, including his grandmother, in Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, is in a tie for third place on the individual leaderboard at four-under-par alongside Portugal's Ricardo Santos.

Scotland has faired the best of the home nations so far with Stephen Gallacher and Martin Laird posting a combined level-par for the tournament. England's pairing of Danny Willett and Chris Wood are three-over, while Graeme McDowell and Shane Lowry have slipped to six-over for the Irish side.

Wales' Stuart Manley is currently at three-under in the individual event despite the 2005 champions not fielding a side in the team competition this year.
