White may not be the most practical colour, but it is certainly proving one of the most popular in terms of golf trousers.

A number of top golfers have been spotted wearing light trousers on the course, including Rory McIlroy who teamed his with a fashionable red golf shirt as he won the DP World Golf Championship in Dubai on Sunday.

Louis Oosthuizen, Joost Luiten and Charl Schwartzel also opted to wear white trousers with bright coloured shirts at the tournament.

Both Brandt Snedeker and Keegan Bradley have opted for pale trousers at the World Challenge golf tournament at Sherwood Country Club, California.

The popularity of pale trousers in recent weeks may be related to the fact that they are cooler to wear when playing in warm climates such as those in Dubai and California.

However, if you'd be too nervous about spilling on white trousers, you can also follow in Tiger Woods footsteps. The former world number one showed he can handle the heat by opting for black trousers on Wednesday.
