Glenmuir Gears Up For Another Ryder Cup Success

Glenmuir, the leading European golf and leisurewear brand, is gearing up for a starring role in the 34th Ryder Cup Matches, which take place next week at The De Vere Belfry. The Lanark based company is providing shirts and sweaters for the European Team, caddies, and officials at the world’s most prestigious golf event.

Glenmuir's design team has been working with European Team Captain Sam Torrance for over two years to design and develop a wardrobe for Sam's team. Says Glenmuir's Sales and Marketing Director Andy Bough, "It's been a pleasure working with Sam to create the best possible outfits for his European Team". Sam is an old friend of the Scottish company, having worn Glenmuir's distinctive diamond logo on the European Tour for many years.

Glenmuir is no stranger to the quality and detail required to clothe Europe's elite golfers, having been selected to supply shirts and knitwear for the last eight European Teams, going all the way back to that famous first victory on American soil at Muirfield Village in 1987. For this year's Matches, the European Team will wear luxury cotton shirts and pure cashmere sweaters designed by Glenmuir, in seven colour combinations chosen by the company's Design Team and Sam Torrance himself.

Glenmuir will also be the lead brand in the Official Ryder Cup Shop at The Belfry, and has fully stocked and merchandised the Shop in preparation for the tens of thousands of spectators who will visit the event next week. A team of 14 Glenmuir staff will work on site for the duration of The Matches. Andy Bough commented, "This year's Ryder Cup will provide the perfect showcase for the Glenmuir brand. Everybody in Lanark is immensely proud that the European Team is wearing our products, and that The Shop will give prominence to our collection."
