Earlier, the Scot from North Berwick had seemed destined for outright victory when he posted a three round total of 12 under par 198 but was caught when his Australian rival eagled the 486 yard par five 16th hole and then calmly rolled in a 16 foot putt across the 18th green for a birdie three. However, the tables were turned on the first extra hole when Good could do no better than par and then had to stand and watch as Huish slotted a putt from 20 feet behind the hole for his winning three.
It was a putt that was worth 33,600 Euro (£20,825) to the Course Manager and Professional at North Berwick and it also brought to an end to a frustrating run of results that had seen the Scot drop outside the top 40 on this season's European Seniors Tour Order of Merit.
"I can't begin to tell you what this means to me," he said after collecting his fifth Seniors Tour title. "It's the hardest thing in the world to defend a title so I am very proud to have achieved it the way I did."
"I have to admit that it is also a result that saves my season," he added. "I had such a bad start that I have been struggling to catch up ever since. It has been pretty depressing but this win will certainly get me back on track."
