Arriving on the green with the position of their tee shots not visible from the green, they were amazed to discover both had sunk a hole in one. As each ball came over the hill, and went in the hole it was like watching a comedy film said eye witness Dave Johnston, club vice captain at Ravensworth. Eric has been playing golf since aged 14 and has a handicap of nine and brother John who started golfing ten years ago plays off twenty.

As we came over the hill we saw one ball resting in the hole. "I knew it wasn't mine as it didn't have any markings on it", said Eric, then John turned round and said "They've both bloody gone in!" It was amazing, we just started shaking hands and slapping each other on the back. John said, "I still can't believe it." We played again soon after and couldn't even hit the green-but that's golf for you."

Both brothers were attired in their usual Glenmuir shirts and sweaters when they achieved glory on the eighth and the company were delighted to present the brothers with outfits from their new European Ryder Cup Collection in recognition of their wonderful day.
