Partnering front runner, Sean Whiffin (Enfield) and long-time leader, Kenny Walker from Scotland, in the final three-ball, Nash took advantage of a couple of Whiffin slip-ups at the 16th and 17th, and stood on the tee of the final hole, a dog-leg 350-yarder, a stroke to the good.
While Whiffin found rough in trying to cut the corner and scuffed his second, Nash, from the middle of the fairway, hit a wedge to 12 feet. When the Enfield man's third failed to find the hole, Tony, now with two for the title, rimmed the hole and tapped in for victory.
Now he intends to use the money to pay for his November wedding in Dubai with his long-term partner, Alison, along with their two young daughters.
The WPGA title, over 36 holes, was retained by Alison Gray, who was pregnant when she won at St Andrews Bay a year ago. And her eight-month-old daughter, Georgia, was at the course to see her mother claw back a three-stroke deficit on former European Tour star, Gillian Stewart, with rounds of 74 and 70, winning by a stroke.
