Fancy treating yourself to a video game this Christmas? Or maybe you’re in need of stocking filler ideas for the golf-mad loved one in your life?

To give you some inspiration, here are six of the best golf games to indulge in this festive period.

Everybody’s Golf (2017)
A stalwart of the golf game scene, the Everybody’s Golf title first appeared on shelves over 20 years ago. The latest edition (confusingly named the same as the 1997 original) is the most involved version yet. Gone are the dress codes and rules — this is a game that everybody can play and it’s a whole 18 holes of fun.

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (2015)
Ever wanted to play like you’re Northern Ireland’s greatest golfer? Despite being three years old, the game remains one of the better golf titles on the market and has the great EA sports gameplay that gamers have come to expect. It also represents a significant leap forward from those much-loved Tiger Woods PGA tour arcade classics.

The Golf Club 2019 (2018)
Cleaner, crisper and with better gameplay, the latest Golf Club offering is the best one yet and now includes an all-new officially licensed PGA Tour Career mode. Some of the official courses included in the game are simply breath-taking, so if you want to experience the game as the professionals do, this is the title for you.

Mario Golf World Tour (2014)
While we wait for a strong Mario Golf title for the Nintendo Switch, there’s nothing wrong with indulgencing in a little retro fun with World Tour on the DS. Including all your favourite characters from the Mario universe, you can pick your way down the back nine as Princess Peach or hammer off the first as Bowser. Let’s-a-go!

Dangerous Golf (2016)
Do you like a spot of crazy golf from time to time? How about a spot of golf so crazy that you set off a series of explosions in a restaurant kitchen? Well, if that fairly niche pastime is an interest of yours, Dangerous Golf could be the title for you. More Angry Birds than PGA Tour, this is a golf game in name only — but it’s a whole lot of fun!

Worms Crazy Golf (2011)
With a number of popular titles under the belt, Worms was already an iconic computer game brand when the explosive little creatures turned their attentions to the golf course back in 2011. While not exactly one for golf purists, it’s definitely a lot of fun and will keep you occupied for hours — just watch out for those sheep…
