THE BATTLE OF BETHPAGE

Glenmuir are honoured to once again have supplied merchandise for The 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York, USA, where Team Europe defied the odds, defeating Team USA 15 to 13, winning The Ryder Cup on US soil for the first time since "The Miracle at Medinah" in 2012.

After winning all four of the team match play sessions on Friday and Saturday, Team Europe went into the final day, 11 12 to 4 12, needing just 2 1⁄2 points to retain The Ryder Cup. Starting the final day with half a point each following the withdrawal of Norway's Viktor Hovland due to injury, the day's play was largely dominated by Team USA, with Sweden's Ludvig Åberg the only member of Team Europe to win a match outright. A half point from England's Matt Fitzpatrick then brought up Europe's overall score to 13 1⁄2 , leaving Ireland's Shane Lowry to putt for the cup's retainment on the 18th green. Further half points from England's Tyrell Hattton and Scotland's Robert MacIntyre brought the final score for Europe to 15 to USA's 13, meaning Team Europe once again won the Cup outright.

Glenmuir were also proud to be the Official Team Outfitter of the 2025 Junior European Ryder Cup Team, and were excited to share our adventures throughout the week out on course and in The Big Apple, on our Instagram page, as well as some highlights below.

IT'S UP TO YOU...

New York's iconic skyline made an impressive visual for the tournament, with the host city even providing the renowned Rockefeller Center Plaza for the official fan zone, with big screens, seating, refreshments and an electric atmosphere as Team Europe and Team USA fans mixed.

INSPIRED BY THE PAST...

Team Europe's shirts for the practice rounds were all inspired by uniforms from previous Ryder Cups in which Team Europe were victorious on US soil. The shirts and knitwear from which the inspiration came, were all designed by Glenmuir for Team Europe's victories at Muirfield, Ohio in 1987; Oak Hill, New York in 1995; Oakland Hills, Michigan in 2004; and the "Miracle at Medinah", Illinois in 2012

Captain Luke Donald insisted on having the original away winning shirts, designed by Glenmuir, hung in the Team Europe locker room to inspire the team. We were proud to see Glenmuir playing a small role in inspiring Team Europe to their eventual victory away at Bethpage.

OLÉ OLÉ OLÉ!

Despite some more intense than usual hostility from some of the home crowds in the USA, Team Europe claimed victory. See you in Ireland in 2027 at Adare Manor!
